YING-PIN LIN|Artist • Educator • Creative Learning Practitioner
About
Ying-Pin Lin is a painter, art historian, and visual
arts educator who believes that great works of art
are not museum objects — they are living tools for
thinking, questioning, and creating.
Rooted in the traditions of art history and grounded
in studio practice, he brings masterworks into the
classroom not as subjects to be memorized, but as
mysteries to be solved. Whether challenging the
conventional title of Van Eyck's Portrait of the
Arnolfini Couple, uncovering the hidden narrative
of Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring, decoding
the dramatic choreography of Rembrandt's Night Watch,
or reimagining Van Gogh's Bedroom in Arles as a
space of longing — his students become cultural
detectives, using iPad and digital tools to see
what others overlook.
As an Apple Distinguished Educator, Apple Learning
Coach, and Apple Professional Learning Specialist,
he works at the intersection of art education and
digital learning — not to replace deep thinking
with technology, but to use technology as a catalyst
for it. His teaching has been recognized by Apple,
GoodNotes, and BenQ, and his work reaches from a
junior high school in rural New Taipei City to
international education stages.
His work as an educator is inseparable from his practice as a painter.
